The city of Cagliari is situated in the south of Sardinia, overlooking the center of "Golfo degli Angeli". The city is spread around the hill of the historic Castle district, bounded on the east by the "Sella del Diavolo", the chain of "seven brothers" and Molentarius' laguna, on the west by the mountains of Capoterra and the Cagliari's Laguna, on the south from the sea and the hill of San Michele and the Campidano plain from North. It has in common with Rome, Lisbon and Istanbul that it was built on 7 hills that identify as many parts of town: Castle, Tuvu Mannu Tuvixeddu, Monte Claro, Monte Urpinu, Colle di Bonaria, Colle di San Michele. In fact the city is characterized by hilly areas, such as the historic districts of Castle, Stampace, Marina and Villanova, and flat areas, which represent most of the districts arose from the nineteenth century untill now. Cagliari's Poetto ("Su Poettu" in Sardinian language) is the main beach which stretches for about eight miles from the "Sella del diavolo" up the coast of Quartu Sant Elena. Another beach to be mentioned is the small beach located in Calamosca stretch between of the sea, Capo Sant 'Elia and the Poetto. In addition to the National Archaeological Museum, which houses within it a rich collection of artifacts dating back to various historical and prehistoric times, we suggest to visit the Roman Amphitheatre (second century), Basilica of San Saturnino ,the oldest church in Sardinia , founded in the fifth century and rebuilt in Romanesque, now restored and rededicated recently; the fortified district of Castello, which until the Second World War, was the residence of the nobles. You should visit also the districts of Stampace, Marina and Villanova. The first was the district of bourgeois and merchants, the second was the district of fishermen and sailors, the third was that of the shepherds and peasants. The Bastion of Saint Remy was built in the late nineteenth century on the ancient city walls, dating from the early fourteenth century, linking the three southern ramparts of the "Zecca", "St. Caterina" and "Sperone". In the municipalities that are part of the metropolitan area of Cagliari are also the beaches of Quartu Sant Elena and Capoterra

Costa Rei is a fraction of Muravera. Populated from many tourists mostly in the summer time and well known for its crystal clear beaches and fine sand. The beach is also famous for the "Scoglio di Peppino", in the locality of Santa Giusta, a low wide rock visited by tourists throughout the year. On the horizon you can see the island of Serpentara. Here you will find picturesque coves and above all a clear blue sea and unspoiled. In 2009, the resort was awarded of the "Travel blogger award" by the prestigious publisher of travel guides "Lonely Planet", which included Costa Rei among the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. Costa Rei extends for about 10 km from Porto Pirastu to Cala Sinzias, and the ideal center at the foot of Monte Nai (200 m), which lends its name to the surrounding area.
