In fact the city is characterized by hilly areas, such as the historic districts of Castle, Stampace, Marina and Villanova, and flat areas, which represent most of the districts arose from the nineteenth century untill now. In addition to the National Archaeological Museum, which houses within it a rich collection of artifacts dating back to various historical and prehistoric times, we suggest to visit the Roman Amphitheatre (second century), Basilica of San Saturnino ,the oldest church in Sardinia , founded in the fifth century and rebuilt in Romanesque, now restored and rededicated recently; the fortified district of Castello, which until the Second World War, was the residence of the nobles. You should visit also the districts of Stampace, Marina and Villanova. The Bastion of Saint Remy was built in the late nineteenth century on the ancient city walls, dating from the early fourteenth century, linking the three southern ramparts of the "Zecca", "St. Caterina" and "Sperone". In the municipalities that are part of the metropolitan area of Cagliari are also the beaches of Quartu Sant Elena and Capoterra

Costa Rei is a fraction of Muravera. Populated from many tourists mostly in the summer time and well known for its crystal clear beaches and fine sand.
